Wetpaint 2010 - 2011
Wetpaint Entertainment is a media/publishing website that specializes in television news and related content targeted towards females ages 18 - 34. Wetpaint.com has a network homepage featuring all Wetpaint Entertainment content, as well as individual fan sites that present content about specific television shows. Some of my work includes redesigning the homepage (including UX and Branding), developing several new show fan sites, and redesigning content pages for articles and galleries. I worked with several teams within Wetpaint to meet individual as well as company goals, which include driving user engagement on the site and developing a fan base.
Microsoft 2010
Contracting for Microsoft's Zune/EXG team as an Information Architect, I developed architecture diagrams, user/application flows, wireframes, navigation taxonomies/hierarchies, and other IA-centered deliverables for media centric applications across a diverse set of hardware platforms. I worked with other designers, user researchers, and product teams to transform requirements and research into the first wave of product design.
Design Commission 2006 - present
Design Commission (DC) is a studio specializing in creating websites, web applications and interactive experiences that solve problems and build value for clients. Some of my responsibilities with DC included graphic design, information architecture, user experience, and production for websites, web applications, logos/ brand schemes, booklets, and email templates. I have done work on projects for larger companies such as Marchex, Corbis, Microsoft and AT&T - as well as local start up businesses such as Pathable, Sustainable Group, and Innerfence. I have also branded & designed websites for many internal projects including DC Gallery, UIStencils.com, and WrkHive web applications.
Participating in Pioneer Squares First Thursday art walk, DC Gallery features artists who raise awareness of contemporary design. Not only have I supported the gallery in branding and website design, but I have also curated, marketed and produced many successful gallery exhibitions.
Seattle Center for Book Arts 2007 - present
SCBA has been working with Seattle Public Libraries on Summer book making classes specialized for kids and teens. As a teacher for these classes, I worked with up to 30 students between the ages of 4-16 in an 3 hour open workshop environment. My tasks also included preparation for classes, set-up and take down.
Catch & Release Design 2007 - 2009
Catch & Release Design is a small business I started as a creative outlet and way to take design out of my computer and make it tangible. I own my own letterpress and screen printing set up in which I create hand printed books, posters, notebooks, cards and invitations.
